ANTI-RHEUMATIC PLANTS

Plants whose phytocomplex exerts inhibitory or modulatory effects on inflammation in general.
The therapeutic action can be found in some specific active ingredients (e.g. salicylates), but more often in the overall action of the phytocomplex.
Inhibitory actions on key enzymes (COX 1 and 2, lipoxygenase), with inhibition on the production of leukotrienes, but also different pharmacological actions (inhibition of the production of cytokines and proteins of the inflammatory phase, modulation on the lymphocyte response, etc.) have been demonstrated for numerous plant extracts. They often also recognise a febrifugal action.
